Christian Horner believes that Toto Wolff is under a different pressure considering how closely Red Bull has driven with Mercedes this season.
Although Mercedes is 36 points ahead of Red Bull in the constructors ‘championship, its top driver Lewis Hamilton is six points behind Max Verstappen in the drivers’ title race.
It was an intense competition throughout the season. Not only because of the rivalry between Hamilton and Verstappen, but also because of the dispute between the team bosses.
There were several major points of contention, including the Silverstone accident, pit stops, and questions about extra engine power on both sides.

Before the US Grand Prix this weekend, the Red Bull team boss said: “I have no problem with Toto, but we are very different people.”
“I tend to be pretty straight and pretty straightforward, that’s how I’ve always acted. He works differently, but I have a lot of respect for what he has done. “

Toto Wolff has never experienced anything other than to win
Toto Wolff is widely regarded as a significant contribution to the establishment of the much-praised culture of the Mercedes F1 team. However, Horner does not seem to agree.
He said: “Wolff came into the sport with Mercedes in 2013 and the structure was already in place. Ross Brawn built this team. Lewis was already signed. “
“Toto did a great job leading the team and maintaining its performance. But of course he never experienced anything other than to win. So it’s a different kind of pressure now. It’s tough.”
Horner, however, has led the Red Bull Racing Team since the beginning in 2005. He has accompanied the rise and the final four-year period of dominance that preceded Mercedes’ V6 domination.
There’s a lot more going on behind the scenes
“Compared to the championship years when we competed with Ferrari and McLaren from 2010 to 2013, it was completely different,” added Horner.
“There’s a lot more going on behind the scenes, the FIA’s ongoing campaign on all aspects of our car.”
“You have to defend yourself when you are attacked, as we have been since the beginning of the year. Whether it was from the concept of aerodynamics with the FIA to pit stops to other aspects of the chassis, you name it. “
