Toto Wolff announces the timing of Lewis Hamilton's meeting with a subtle remark during his Abu Dhabi antics

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff will meet Lewis Hamilton in February at the earliest. The F1 star has been out of the social media spotlight since the colossal blow in Abu Dhabi. The 2021 F1 season was arguably the most exciting season we’ve seen in a long time, but it ended with plenty of controversy. Hamilton appeared angry at the developments during the safety car period and even called the race “fixed”.

Things were not going too badly for the Silver Arrows as the sun went down in Abu Dhabi on December 12.

The team won its 8th consecutive Constructors’ Championship and continued its unparalleled dominance since 2014. Team boss Toto Wolff and outgoing driver Valtteri Bottas celebrated the night at a club in Abu Dhabi with drinks and slow jams. Wolff recently referred to this party when announcing his next meeting with the star driver.

In a recent interview quoted by SoyMotor, Wolff spoke about his next meeting with the star driver. The Austrian jokingly added that his plans for this meeting don’t include tequila as he drank a lot of it in Abu Dhabi.

“We’ll see each other again by February at the latest, and of course not to drink tequila. I had enough of that in Abu Dhabi,” said the Austria boss.

Wolff has said on numerous occasions that he absolutely wants the Brit to continue. However, he is unsure what Hamilton’s last call would be. “I really hope we see Lewis back in Formula 1 as he is the most important part of our sport. It would be an indictment for the entire category if the best driver decided to retire due to scandalous decisions,” he added.
