The Mercedes Formula 1 and Formula E teams have announced a new partnership with the software company TeamViewer.

TeamViewer will provide both teams with remote connectivity solutions to reduce CO2 emissions and new technologies to optimize work between the route and the teams’ bases.

The technology provided by TeamViewer, which recently signed a contract to be the main sponsor of football giant Manchester United, is also used by Mercedes for industrial purposes.

In return, TeamViewer will be branded on the manufacturer’s Formula 1 and Formula E cars and racing suits, starting with the upcoming races of each series in Monaco.

“By working together in Formula 1 and Formula E, we can increase technological performance and help optimize remote operations for many companies around the world,” said Toto Wolff, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport.

“In addition to our own ambitions for sustainability, we are convinced that the growth of companies like TeamViewer will make a significantly greater contribution to CO2 emissions. I’m delighted to see her join the team – and look forward to seeing her brand take to the global stage with our Monaco races in May. “

The 2021 Formula 1 season will continue on April 18 in Imola, Italy.
