Yes you’ve read correctly! As already mentioned, two of them are of course Hamilton and Mercedes. Interestingly, the third winner is Bose, the official Mercedes AMG team partner in the area of sound, thanks to the infamous video starring Toto Wolff that went viral after the race.

After the Saudi Arabia GP, a video with Mercedes F1 boss Toto Wolff appeared on social media. The Austrian can be seen breaking his Bose headset to pieces in frustration. Since then, the video has been circulating quickly and the end result is monumental.

According to reports, the video provided Mercedes partner Bose with over 4 million impressions. On top of that, Bose earned nearly $ 25,000 worth of money.

That was totally inappropriate! Who would have thought that smashing one of the sponsored headsets would result in inadvertent advertising, and thus a rather unexpected profit for the company?

Why Wolff broke his headset

This part is specially intended for the readers who missed the Saudi Arabia GP. On lap 38, Verstappen defended a little too hard against an up-and-coming Hamilton, forcing both of them off the track. Therefore, race director Michael Masi demanded that the Dutchman lose his lead to Hamilton.

But massive miscommunication led to an avoidable incident when Hamilton crashed into the rear of Verstappen’s Red Bull and damaged its front wing. Wolff, watching this ugly moment right in front of his eyes, had to let out the frustration that was building up in him.

And now, this is where a Bose headset ended up as a victim. Wolff slammed the headset on the table in front of him, and the headset was split in two. The funny thing is that this incident happened during the penultimate race.

The biggest race is still to come! So are we going to break even more of these accessories through Wolff in Abu Dhabi? We will know in time.
