The Aston Martin V12 Speedster is getting a DBR1-inspired makeover

Aston Martin has unveiled a special specification of its upcoming limited edition V12 Speedster. The DBR1 specification pays tribute to the luxury sports car maker’s racing history and celebrates the future.

Only 88 examples of the V12 Speedster will be built for customers worldwide, and the new custom specification underscores the vehicles’ immediate collector status.

The Aston Martin V12 Speedster DBR1 specification stands out from the rest of the range with its Racing Green paintwork, anodized Satin Silver grille with lipstick graphics, and Clubsport’s white pinstripes. It takes more than 50 hours for the DBR1 specification’s outer surface to come to life in the automaker’s advanced paint shop.

The DBR1 specification was fitted with 21-inch diamond-turned centerlock wheels. The interior of the variant has been optimized to install a variety of accents made of carbon fiber, Caithness Green leather and matching switchgear made of satin silver and brushed aluminum. “A rare and exceptional Aston Martin, it was designed to offer a visceral driving experience that contradicts its elegant, artistic form,” said Marek Reichman, Aston Martin’s chief creative officer.

Unique Aston Martin Racing Green driver and passenger helmets sit under transparent windows, while solid silver wing badges sparkle under transparent enamel. “Creating a bespoke specification that reflects the glory of the DBR1 has been a great privilege for my team and me,” he adds.

The V12 Speedster models are powered by a 5.2-liter V12 engine with two turbochargers, which produces 690 hp and 752 Nm of torque. The engine is connected to a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission that is mounted at the rear of the vehicle. The cars can sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 300 km / h.

Aston Martin has opened the order books for the DBR1 Custom V12 Speedster, each of which is hand-built at the company’s Gaydon headquarters. Deliveries are expected to begin in mid-2021.
