TeamViewer has announced a new five-year partnership with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team and the Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team.

The software company, which was recently announced as the new shirt sponsor of Premier League club Manchester United, will provide Mercedes teams with remote connectivity solutions and technology to help them perform better as an official partner

According to Mercedes, TeamViewer is also the first brand to have agreed a new partnership with Mercedes in both Formula 1 and Formula E.

Mercedes is currently the only manufacturer competing in both series and will bring TeamViewer branding to both cars and the drivers’ racing suits.

“We are very pleased to announce this new partnership with TeamViewer,” said Toto Wolff, CEO and Team Principal Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 and Head of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport.

“Motorsport is a proven catalyst for technology and business development and we look forward to working together on both fronts for the years to come. It is a dynamic and ambitious brand and fits perfectly with the pioneering spirit of Mercedes-Benz in motorsport.

“By working together in F1 and FE, we can increase technology performance and help optimize remote operations for many companies around the world. In addition to our own sustainability ambitions, we believe that the growth of companies like TeamViewer will significantly improve carbon emissions on a much larger scale. I’m looking forward to welcoming you to the team – and looking forward to taking your brand onto the global stage with our Monaco races in May. “

Oliver Steil, CEO, TeamViewer, added: “We are very proud to become an official partner of Mercedes-Benz, one of the best-known brands in motorsport. TeamViewer and Mercedes share the same values of performance, innovation and technology. This partnership is an important pillar in our strategy to build a truly global technology brand while creating new opportunities to transfer use cases from the fastest-evolving and data-driven sports to the industrial environment of our customers.

“We are delighted to be making our leading connectivity solutions for remote diagnosis and collaboration available to the Mercedes Formula 1 and Formula E teams – and to make them faster, more efficient and more sustainable. The merger with the most successful teams in motorsport underpins our strategy of becoming stronger for longer and creates added value for our customers, employees and shareholders. “

According to Mercedes, the TeamViewer software will make its teams more efficient, optimize remote operations and improve connectivity between track teams and those at its base in Brackley. The manufacturer says TeamViewer will also help it meet its net zero emissions goal by allowing it to work remotely.
