It’s supposed to be the most epic ending to an F1 season in years – but the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is unlikely to air freely in the UK. After an intense duel between the two, Max Verstappen Lewis Hamilton is currently eight points ahead of the drivers’ championship with only two remaining Grand Prix.

Sky holds the exclusive rights to show F1 live in the UK, but it doesn’t seem like they’ll give in to demand this time around.

Instead, coverage is expected to follow the same format, with Channel 4 showing the usual delayed qualifying and racing highlights.

“The race is unlikely to be aired on December 12th. As always, the highlights will be available on channel 4, ”a Sky spokesman told Motorsport Broadcasting.

Channel 4’s current schedules show that the qualifying highlights will air on Saturday, December 11th at 6:55 p.m., while the racing highlights will air the next day at 5:30 p.m.
