The Australian, who was postponed at the end of the season, has very strict entry restrictions.
Turkey was only recently added to the schedule as a replacement for the Canadian Grand Prix, but has been canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions and replaced with a second race in Austria.
Formula 1 gave an update on the 2021 racing calendar in May after new travel restrictions for Covid-19 were imposed in Turkey.
This weekend is now free, the French Grand Prix will take place a week earlier than originally planned on the 18th-20th. June moved and a second race in Austria – the Grand Prix of Styria – added to the calendar from June 25th to 27th.
“We were all looking forward to driving in Turkey, but the current travel restrictions have meant that we cannot be there in June,” said Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, in a statement.
