Mercedes and Red Bull had close competition throughout the season, both in the constructors ‘and in the drivers’ standings. Valtteri Bottas achieved one win, four pole positions and eleven podiums, while Hamilton took eight wins, five pole positions and seventeen podiums.

Hamilton scored 387.5 points and Bottas 226 points, a total of 613.5 points, with which the Silver Arrows won the constructors’ championship. Unfortunately for the team, Hamilton controversially lost the drivers’ title on the final lap of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
