Schumacher believes Max Verstappen “has no chance” in the last two races against Lewis Hamilton

Former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher believes it is hard for Max Verstappen to stop Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton in the next few races.

Ralf Schumacher believes it will be very difficult for Max Verstappen to beat Lewis Hamilton in the last two races as Mercedes has a pace advantage over the Red Bull F1 team. The former German F1 driver told Sky Sports after the Qatar GP that he believes Mercedes has the “more stable package” when it comes to their car.

Ralf Schumacher explained why he believes why Max Verstappen’s chances are decreasing, said Ralf Schumacher:

“The Mercedes is currently the more stable package. Max gives everything and shows how good he is. Under normal circumstances, however, he has no chance. “

Schumacher’s predictions for Max Verstappen may be a bit premature, but are largely due to the superlatives of Mercedes in Brazil and Qatar. But as the venues for the Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi races could be mixed, favoring both teams, given the narrow nature of the fight, it’s too early to say which direction the pendulum will swing.

Ralf Schumacher: “Great improvement in the W12 and in Lewis’ current form, Verstappen has no chance of winning the title.”

While Mercedes claims they will bring their Brazilian engine to the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix, the pace advantage it had over the Red Bull F1 car is unlikely to be as dominant as it was in Brazil. However, if Red Bull F1 solve their aerodynamic wing problems and find extra performance from Saudi Arabia, it can be expected that it will be a close fight to the finish line in Abu Dhabi.

Should Max Verstappen take the win and the fastest lap in Saudi Arabia, he will increase his lead over Hamilton by 14 points before the last lap. If Hamilton wins on the Jeddah Corniche Circuit and Max Verstappen finishes second and sets the fastest lap, the Dutchman’s title advantage will be reduced to four points.

Ideally, a complete win for Verstappen would swing the momentum in his favor, and the second drivers from both the Red Bull F1 team and Mercedes will play a big role in the fight. While Valtteri Bottas has to throw everything into his arsenal at the Dutchman, Perez will have to do the same with Hamilton in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi.
