Red Bull shared the F1 excerpt from the Mexican Grand Prix start and continued to thank their “friends” for their help in Turn 1. “We managed with a little help from our friends,” wrote Red Bull.
And since this tweet appeared in the feed, fans have been racking their brains and wondering who the “friends” are referring to. At the moment they seem divided. While one group of fans believe it is Daniel Ricciardo, another group points a finger at Valtteri Bottas.
Let’s decipher this tweet, shall we? But before we go any further, here are some answers from the debate.

Who actually helped Red Bull?
Let’s start with Bottas. As his team-mate Hamilton and boss Wolff accused, Bottas Verstappen left the door open to take control of the racing line.
On the other side of the track, Hamilton made sure that Sergio Perez couldn’t find a way inside. So that was the first aid Red Bull got and it came from Bottas. Then the second helper, Ricciardo.

When the cars got to Turn 1, it looked like Perez was going to lose some positions to Ricciardo and Gasly. But then came the rear of the former Red Bull driver with Bottas’ Mercedes.
In this way, Perez found a clear path forward and what was to become P6 became P3 for the Mexican in a matter of seconds. Overall, the Turn 1 incident played a crucial role in Red Bull’s ultimate double podium at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
