With no contract renewal offered to Russell, it’s likely we won’t see on the team next season. The Grove-based companies reached out to Red Bull’s development driver for a chance to get behind the wheel for the next season.

According to reports from Motorsport.com from the Spa paddock, the team does not see De Vries or Zhou as an option. Instead, they see Albon as the perfect match when George sets off for the Silver Arrows for the 2022 season.

Jost Capito comments on Williams’ seating situation
The Grove-based team’s CEO has shared his thoughts on potential drivers for Williams if Russell leaves. He’s hoping the driver is ready to do his best for the team and is a perfect fit for Williams.

He said, “The main thing is that we want the best drivers who are available and interested in driving for Williams and who are interested in doing the job for Williams. It is not necessarily the driver who wants to become world champion next year – for us he would be on the wrong team.

“We need drivers who are willing to support the team, get the team back, lead the team and improve their performance. At the moment we are seeing that the drivers’ interest in getting to Williams is growing, ”concluded Capito.
