To sum it up, Esteban Ocon believes Alpine’s strong one-lap pace could help them beat Ferrari and McLaren in the Monaco Grand Prix this weekend.

Ocon expects Monaco to match Alpine’s strengths
Ocon, who qualified on the third row of the grid in the last two races, was encouraged by Alpine’s performance in the winding final sector at the Circuit de Catalunya with a view to this weekend’s race.
“Until we park the car there and do qualifying, we don’t know for sure, but I think if we look at our performance in qualifying we are in good shape in qualifying,” he said. “I hope we can do that well.”
Alpine wasn’t as competitive as their rivals in terms of racing equipment, Ocon admitted, but that might hurt them less in Monaco.
“I think we can give Ferrari and the other cars a fight in qualifying, I’m pretty confident. [It’s] the place where we need to focus in Monaco.
“Naturally [in] The race is difficult to overtake so it is less of a critical point. I think we’re a little slower than Ferrari, a little slower than McLaren at the moment at the sheer pace of the race. “
Reutemann’s condition is improving
The multiple winner of the Formula 1 race, Carlos Reutemann (79), has left the intensive care unit and is showing improvement after being hospitalized for bleeding in the digestive tract with internal bleeding. The 1981 World Championship runner-up and winner of 12 Grand Prix runners will stay at the hospital in Rosario, Santa Fe, where he is a Senator.
The W-Series tests begin and the season opener begins
W-Series testing began in Wales yesterday. After the 2020 season was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the W-Series returned to action for their second championship yesterday with the first pre-season test. Travel restrictions prevented Tasmin Pepper from South Africa from attending, but the rest of the confirmed driver list was in place, as was a trio of newcomers: Abbi Pulling, Gosia Rdest and Caitlin Wood.
The venue of the season opening race has changed in line with the updates to the F1 calendar 2021 announced last week. The 2021 W-Series will start next month at the Red Bull Ring instead of Paul Ricard and support the Styrian Grand Prix of F1. The second round will take place at the same location and will accompany six more Grand Prix.
