Progress on the Jeddah Circuit continues

Fifty days before the first Saudi Arabia Grand Prix, the penultimate round of the World Championship, the organizers have unveiled new images of the Jeddah Corniche Circuit under construction in the country’s second largest city.

The 6.175-kilometer circuit with 27 corners will be one of the longest F1 races and is dubbed its fastest road circuit. The picture above shows Turn 26 which will be one of the fastest spots on the track. It leads into the final corner where drivers are expected to hit 200 mph (322 km / h) before braking.

The track is fully floodlit and the race is carried out under lights at night.

Williams weak in medium conditions – Russell

George Russell, Williams, Istanbul Park, 2021
Wet tracks don’t suit Williams, Russell says George Russell says the rain that has fallen in recent races has pointed to a weakness in his FW43B’s performance. The Williams driver said the car would not be competitive in medium weather conditions.

“If you push too much, the tire wear increases and when you arrive at the wetter sections of the track, you simply have no grip,” explained Russell after the Turkish Grand Prix on Sunday. “But when we came out with new tires, they didn’t really seem to jump either.

“The tread is so much more [that] They were also not suitable on drier parts of the route. You thread in what you need. We have been under these conditions twice now, we had problems both times.

“We are usually better in wet conditions or slicks than in damp conditions. We have to think a little about this intermediate phase. “
