It goes without saying that his father Michael Schumacher is one of the most famous names in Formula 1 history. His dominance at Ferrari between 2000 and 2004 is still spoken of today, and only one man has made it to the title with the German, Lewis Hamilton.

However, his son Mick said he feels very differently about the legacy and pressures associated with the name.

In the run-up to the season he said: “I never said [having the name] was pressure and I think I would never say it because I am very happy to have that surname and I am very happy to have that name back in Formula One.
