Miracle from Yas Marina for Max Verstappen when he prevailed in the World Cup shootout
Mercedes has made a big clue about Lewis Hamilton’s future after rumors surfaced of his potential Formula 1 retirement.
Hamilton was undoubtedly heartbroken after last season’s dramatic end to the F1 title race when he was ousted to an eighth record title by Max Verstappen on the final lap of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Verstappen won his first world title after winning in the Middle East, but it was not without controversy.
With a handful of laps left, Hamilton looked good to win a fifth straight Formula One championship, but what came next undoubtedly shocked the Englishman and his team.

A late accident involving the humble Nicholas Latifi resulted in the use of a safety car, which in turn almost wiped out Hamilton’s once comfortable lead over Verstappen.
The process became enormously dramatic when FIA Director Michael Masi contentiously let five lapped cars overtake the safety car between the title rivals, which remarkably brought Hamilton and Verstappen only one lap before the end of the race.
The top pair had to decide for the world championship in a lap competition and – no doubt thanks to his fresh tires – Verstappen was the man who later prevailed.

This controversial finish has undoubtedly left Hamilton a bitter aftertaste, with many wondering if the racer might never race again while the Briton has yet to break his social media silence.
However, racing fans around the world can now breathe a sigh of relief after Mercedes dropped a big hint that the Englishman will be back on track in 2022.
The design champions took advantage of social media and tweeted a picture of Hamilton along with the caption: “Adversity can break some; others to break records. “
Do you think Hamilton will return for the 2022 season? Let us know in the comment section below.
With the 36-year-old just one title away from becoming the most successful F1 driver of all time, the cryptic caption seems to suggest that Hamilton will break the record in the coming season.
Despite the reassurance, Hamilton has remained remarkably calm after the Abu Dhabi disappointment and has not posted to any of his normally active Twitter and Instagram accounts since the day before the season finale.
And Hamilton’s silence even reached FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem after revealing the Englishman didn’t even respond to his personal text messages.

Ben Sulayem said during a press conference ahead of the Dakar Rally: “I’ve sent him messages, yes I think he’s not 100 percent ready and I understand his position.”
However, the FIA chief quickly dismissed any idea that Hamilton would retire.
When asked if Hamilton called the day, he replied, “No, I don’t think these are rumors …
“Did he declare that he will not return? No … I trust it is not, Lewis is an important part of the sport and F1, his accomplishments … I am sure we will find a very exciting F1 next season. “
