The Dutchman has always been a vocal supporter of the Japanese manufacturer and named the first joint victory at the 2019 Austrian Grand Prix as his favorite highlight.
“It will always be the most emotional memory of our time together and hopefully we can finish this season with them in full swing before they leave the sport,” said Verstappen.
“They were always straightforward and delivered what we expected.
“You spend a lot of time discussing everything with the team and us as drivers, and that was very important.”
Honda will be leaving Formula 1 at the end of the season due to its commitment to environmental initiatives, which is one of the manufacturer’s top priorities.
