Max Verstappen has an advantage over bitter rival Lewis Hamilton; here is how

Turkish Grand Prix

Mercedes F1 driver Lewis Hamilton and Red Bull Max Verstappen are currently engaged in an exciting race for the Formula 1 drivers’ championship. While Lewis Hamilton tries to keep the trophy, Verstappen wants to end the dominance of Mercedes drivers. Lewis Hamilton is currently two points ahead of Max Verstappen in the drivers’ standings and would try to widen the gap by winning the upcoming Turkish Grand Prix. However, it will be even more difficult for the Briton to keep the lead as he will likely start from the bottom of the field. According to a report released by Express.co.uk, Lewis Hamilton could take a motor penalty at the Turkish Grand Prix this weekend, which only means Max Verstappen has a strong chance to recapture the lead in the drivers’ championship. According to the report, both Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton are considering whether or not to take an engine penalty in Turkey or at another race.[IonshippointstableandwouldlooktoextendthenarrowgapbywinningtheupcomingTurkishGrandPrixHoweverretainingtheleadwillonlygettougherfortheBritishdriverasheislikelytostartfromthebackofthegridAccordingtoareportpublishedbyExpresscoukLewisHamiltonmaytakeanenginepenaltyattheTurkishGrandPrixthisweekendwhichonlymeansthatMaxVerstappenhasastrongchancetoreclaimtheleadoftheDrivers’ChampionshipAsperthereportbothMercedesandLewisHamiltonareconsideringwhetherornottotakeanenginepenaltyinTurkeyoratanotherrace[ionshippointstableandwouldlooktoextendthenarrowgapbywinningtheupcomingTurkishGrandPrixHoweverretainingtheleadwillonlygettougherfortheBritish driverasheislikelytostartfromthebackofthegridAccordingtoareportpublishedbyExpresscouk LewisHamilton maytakeanenginepenaltyattheTurkishGrandPrixthisweekendwhichonlymeansthatMaxVerstappenhasastrongchancetoreclaimtheleadoftheDrivers’ChampionshipAsperthereportbothMercedesandLewisHamiltonareconsideringwhetherornottotakeanenginepenaltyinTurkeyoratanotherrace

In Lewis Hamilton’s engine penalty, the seven-time world champion has already used the maximum three engines allowed this season and will almost certainly have to use a fourth in seven remaining races of the year to avoid a breakdown in the middle of the race and suffer a DNF. Verstappen started at the last Russian Grand Prix in Sochi and finished second in the race. Although Hamilton won the race and took his 100th F1 victory in the process, he was still unable to extend the lead over his opponent.

GP schedule in Turkey

Comin has received the Turkish GP plan, the race will take place on Sunday October 10th. The Istanbul Park Circuit replaces the canceled night race on the Singapore street circuit on October 3rd. Singapore eliminated on June 4th, with F1 citing “safety” and logistical concerns “caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Turkey was originally an emergency substitute for another canceled race in Canada but was cut back last month and replaced with the second race in Austria when the UK put stricter travel restrictions on Turkey. Most of the F1 teams are based in the UK. It is the ninth edition of the Turkish Grand Prix. The race took place every year from 2005 to 2011 and was revived last year when other events were canceled amid the pandemic. Lewis Hamilton won the 2020 race.
