Brawn, who was at the height of Schumacher’s career with Ferrari, is one of the best connoisseurs to tell how the German worked.

In a Ross Brawn column on Formula 1, he described Max Verstappen’s pre-race preparation methods as Michael Schumacher’s.

“It reminds me of how Michael Schumacher ran a long distance on the Thursday before a race weekend. He would look around the corners and check the escape routes if something went wrong. He would then know whether you can safely escape a brave step and be more confident in taking that step, ”he wrote.

“Max mastered the first corner in Mexico very well and had the confidence to pull it off.”

The particular incident Brawn speaks of occurred a few seconds after the lights went out.

Max Verstappen started third, behind the two Mercedes from Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas. In turn 1, Bottas stepped conservatively on the brakes. This left a large gap on his left.

That was opportunity enough for Max Verstappen, who took over the sidelines and took the lead from which he never looked back.

Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton both deserved to win the title

Ross Brawn, who has seen enough rivalries in his career, does not prefer or choose a driver to outperform the other this season.

But on the contrary.

“There are still four races and anything can happen, so this championship battle is far from over. I’ve heard someone say they both deserve the title – and in a way they do. “

This entire season has been one of the most exciting in the recent past, peppered with iconic moments. But the icing on the cake of this season, which is still in production, is the battle between Hamilton and Verstappen.
