Lewis Hamilton supports Naomi Osaka on social media

Hungarian GP: What is the starting grid for the F1 race on Sunday and who is on pole position?

Naomi Osaka, the four-time Grand Slam winner, has been struggling with mental health problems for some time, which got worse at the French Open. Since then she has been actively supported by several well-known athletes, including seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.

Well, the good news is that Osaka found a way to deal with mental stress and recently posted a statement on social media as well. Unsurprisingly, Hamilton also praised Osaka’s post on Instagram.

The Mercedes world champion took to Instagram to respect Osaka’s successful battle against mental health issues and also shared her post on his story. He further titled the article with the words “Champions Mentality”.

Osaka’s mental health problems peaked after a dominant presentation on Pariser Platz; The 23-year-old announced her withdrawal from the Grand Slam event in Paris, despite winning the first round in straight sets.

And, of course, the management of the French Open was one of the reasons for this, as Osaka fined $ 15,000 for failing to speak at the post-game conference.

The announcement came the very next day. Days later, her agent confirmed that she would not be competing at Wimbledon either.

Fortunately, Osaka managed to enter the main draw at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics but didn’t get past the third round.

Growing hatred of Hamilton in F1

Hamilton is one of the few drivers on the grid who has spoken out for or against various social issues around the world. Despite doing such good deeds for society, his debacle with Max Verstappen at Silverstone opened a can of worms on the track.

Many fans questioned Hamilton’s fair play during the British Grand Prix. And of course it caused severe hate comments against the world champion, and many other racing colleagues had to intervene and ask the fans to continue.

But that’s not it. There is also a debate about who is the real “greatest of all time”. While the statistics suggest that Hamilton is indeed the GOAT, many fans are reluctant to accept this fact and often put the crown on racing legend Michael Schumacher.

Nevertheless, the Briton apparently remains unscathed by this hatred and is well on the way to achieving a record-breaking 8th F1 title. So can Hamilton finally end the debates by setting a new benchmark in Formula 1? We’ll know soon enough.
