Lewis Hamilton has been branded “pretty unbeatable” at the moment because of Mercedes’ new engine and the upgrades his team has made to his car. Hamilton clinched one of the best victories of his illustrious Formula 1 career in Brazil last Sunday.

After the first qualifying on Friday, Hamilton was robbed of a technical violation of P1 for the sprint race on Saturday.

However, the Brit made a brilliant recovery from the last start to fifth, despite only having 24 laps to go.

Hamilton started on Sunday at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix on P10 due to a five-place penalty for an engine change.

Although title rival Max Verstappen stole Hamilton’s team-mate Valtteri Bottas early on, the 36-year-old fought his way through the grid again and fought an exciting battle with the Red Bull driver.

After running off the track at turn 4 on a 48th lap, Hamilton finally prevailed 11 laps later on Verstappen and finished 10 seconds ahead of the Dutchman.

And after such an imperious appearance, the former F1 driver and Sky Sports expert Brundle described the seven-time world champion, who is traveling to Qatar this weekend, as almost invincible.

Brundle wrote in his Sky Sports column: “The information leading up to the event suggested that Mercedes would add another internal combustion engine to its pool so that it would have two engines for the remaining four races and that proved correct. along with a five-place penalty on the starting grid in Brazil.

“With effectively three new tracks at the end of the season, Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi, expecting high top speeds, and given the drop in performance with mileage that Merc has suffered this season, it made sense.

In the drivers’ championship, Verstappen is 14 points ahead of the last three races of the season in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi.

And the 23-year-old remains optimistic about his chances of getting back on his feet in the next race this weekend at the Losail International Circuit.

He said, “Of course [I was surprised by Mercedes’ speed], I would have liked to have been closer, but it just felt very difficult for us here.

“And of course [Mercedes] The use of the new engine clearly brings you a bit of power at the beginning.

“But that will slowly return to normal, maybe it looks a little more dramatic now, but I’m confident that it will slowly become a little more normal.”
