Sainz has also managed to score consistently in the last few races, which shows that after a historically poor year in 2020, Ferrari now seems to be getting more into the rhythm.
The jumping horse finished sixth in the Constructors’ Championship, its worst result recently, showing that the team was far from fighting for race wins and world titles as it was not so long ago.
While victories still seem out of reach for the Italian team – they have yet to win a race in 2021 – Hamilton believes it doesn’t belong before they’re back at the top of the grid.
“Of course they had a difficult time, but they are getting stronger,” continued the Mercedes man.
“They are getting faster again and are climbing up the rankings. They are slowly catching up with the teams in front.”
