Hamilton holds an impressive record of winning at least one race in every season he’s competed in F1. But that record is under serious threat with Red Bull and Max Verstappen’s dominance of late.

Verstappen has won 12 of the 16 races so far this season and is on course to smash the previous record of most victories in a single season. Both Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel hold the joint record for most wins in a single year with 13 and Verstappen looks unbeatable at the moment with six races left in the season.

But Hamilton will be hoping to end Verstappen’s run eventually with Mercedes also aiming to catch Ferrari. Mercedes are currently 35 points behind Ferrari in the standings, largely due to both Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz retiring a combined seven times this season compared to Hamilton who has retired just twice while Russell has finished every race.
