Lando Norris has the best start to a Formula 1 season of all time. In order to improve his P4 (Bahrain) and P3 (Imola) placements, he took another top 5 place at the Portuguese Grand Prix last weekend. While the Brit did not have the best time in practice, he did everything in qualifying to ensure a good start to the race.

When Max Verstappen approached Norris during the flight lap, McLaren asked his driver not to do the Red Bull driver a favor. Norris got out of the Dutchman’s way and didn’t cause him a problem.
The radio call from the Woking outfit did not impress Helmut Marko. He called McLaren and Mercedes about collusion and explained that together they were trying to make things difficult for Verstappen.

In a recent interview, Lando Norris stated that he found the Red Bull Supremo’s comments very funny.

Norris stated, “I saw these comments and thought they were quite funny. For some reason, he blamed Mercedes. So I have no idea what he’s talking about. Why should Mercedes have anything to do with it? “

Although McLaren asked Norris not to do Verstappen favors, he stepped out of the way as the Red Bull approached. The Briton stands by his actions and believes the Austrian team could feel this way because they couldn’t qualify in front of the Silver Arrows.

He said, “I think he was obviously a little annoyed that a Mercedes qualified ahead of them. Every team boss will not be satisfied with it. Maybe they were just blind and didn’t look at this. But yeah, I didn’t do anything wrong. “

To be fair, Norris has done everything right so far this season. He qualified for the Portuguese GP in P7 and took a P5 place. The McLaren driver has finished in the top 5 in all races and is currently in P3 position in the drivers’ standings.
He has grown as a rider and his confidence is at an all-time high. He hopes to continue the good run and also score some important points in the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix.
