The ice cream man, as he is affectionately known, missed the Italian and Dutch GPs
Former Formula 1 world champion Kimi Raikkonen posted on social media that he is fit after his battle with COVID19 and will be back for the Russian GP. The 2007 world champion posted on his Instagram profile that he is fit again. Raikkonen is the most experienced driver in the history of the sport and the oldest driver on the current grid.
“I’m fine. See you at the next GP,” wrote the 41-year-old Finn, who is due to retire from the sport at the end of the season. He had only announced his retirement two races ago just before the start of the Dutch GP weekend, after which he had tested positive and had to miss two consecutive weekends.

The Russian GP is scheduled for the weekend of September 26th on the Sochi track. It’s a power sensitive circuit likely suitable for cars powered by a Mercedes engine, something that isn’t in Raikkonen’s current machinery, which is powered by Ferrari.
