At the Monaco Grand Prix, the Finn was strong in second place. But when Bottas pulled into the pit lane, he never came out again because of the jammed wheel nut, marking the second botched pit stop of the season.
With the series of unsatisfactory results at the start of the season, Valtteri Bottas was heavily rumored to be moving from Mercedes. In addition, 23-year-old George Russell is seen as the front runner, replacing the Finnish driver in the Silver Arrows.

What did Valtteri Bottas say?
As quoted by the Hypebeast, Valtteri Bottas replied to the question about the persistent bad luck this season: “It’s not fun. “The most painful thing is when I make a mistake myself and have a bad weekend because I didn’t play at the level I should be. It’s more painful and I always try to learn from every situation.
“It wasn’t the best season with mixed results and a lack of pace, but here we are and there is still a long, long year ahead of us,” added the Finn.
Being a team-mate of Lewis Hamilton is not easy: Bottas
Valtteri Bottas replaced the outgoing world champion from 2016, Nico Rosberg, at Mercedes in 2017. Since then, the former Williams driver has taken 17 pole positions, 53 podiums and nine wins.
However, the Finnish driver reveals that he is the teammate of seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, who is extremely difficult.
“Being Lewis’ team-mate isn’t easy because he’s pretty quick, both in qualifying and especially in the races. It makes me push myself more and always try to dig deeper or try new things because I know that I have to give absolutely everything if I want to beat him, ”said Valtteri Bottas.
