What a season Formula 1 has in 2021.
There are brilliant fights everywhere: Max Verstappen versus Lewis Hamilton, who rightly comes first in every round as the closest multi-team title fight the championship has produced in years. Then there is the competition for the best A-Team in F1 between Alpine, AlphaTauri and Aston Martin, Williams and Alfa Romeo on the edge of the midfield, the Haas rookies fighting at the back. Also Fernando Alonso against the FIA and the whims of the F1 rules. All of these competitions had a good performance in Austin at the gripping US Grand Prix last week.
But the standout battle behind the battle at the top between Mercedes and Red Bull involves two of F1’s most famous teams: McLaren versus Ferrari. And they fail to be the best in the world and to secure the lucrative third place in the constructors’ championship in 2021.
