Formula 1 is a sport with two championships, the driver’s title and the constructor’s title. For some teams it’s important to win both, but it’s different for team boss Christian Horner and Red Bull.

Although he knows the financial benefits of winning the team championship, he knows that the driver’s title has more value in sport. Max Verstappen is in the middle of an intense battle against arch rival Lewis Hamilton. Horner hopes the Red Bull prodigy will have the edge.

The Milton-Keynes-based team is in a fierce battle against rivals, Mercedes on both fronts, the drivers ‘and constructors’ championships. However, the boss of Red Bull would pull the drivers ‘championship over the constructors’ title.

He said: “The real money is in the constructors ‘championship, but the drivers’ title has a lot of prestige. I think they are equivalent. From the team’s point of view, it might be better to fight for the drivers’ title, but we also just want to be the best team, so Perez will have an important role to play in that. “

A chance to get back to the top in the drivers’ championship?
The team led by Horner had to be content with second place at the GP of Russia last race weekend, while Mercedes took victory thanks to Hamilton. However, the Raging Bulls are optimistic about the Turkish Grand Prix.

One of the factors that speak for Red Bull is that Hamilton will receive a 10-place penalty for the race. This has the potential to take advantage of Verstappen as he hopes to overcome the 2 point gap he has with Lewis in the title race.

In the first practice session on Friday, Verstappen was the second fastest starter, only beaten by the Knight. Instead of setting the fastest lap in FP2, however, the Dutchman fell back to fifth place on the time table.
