Formula 1 is not just a high octane sport, it’s also known for its glitz and glamor. The paddock saw some notable names during the Grand Prix weekend and it was no different at the recent Italian Grand Prix at Monza.

This time it was popular Hollywood actor and face of the Fast & Furious franchise, Vin Diesel. The actor was there for the Italian Grand Prix snapping photos with Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton, and the Silver Arrows saw this as an opportunity to make a splash on social media.

The film is about family and has made a name for itself on social media. When the actor was in the race on Sunday, Mercedes took the opportunity to give a reference to his blockbuster film.

Not the only actor to attend a Grand Prix weekend this season

During the dramatic British Grand Prix at Silverstone earlier this season, the Silver Arrows had cheered Hollywood actor Tom Cruise to keep them company. The US star cheered no less than the seven-time world champion.
When the Knight crossed the checkered flag in his home race, Cruise was overjoyed for the driver he was campaigning for. As Hamilton was preparing to step onto the podium and celebrate his win, he was stopped by the actor who hugged him and congratulated him on his performance at Silverstone.
