Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes F1 came to the weekend of the Belgian Grand Prix 2021 and, thanks to unfortunate incidents with title rival Max Verstappen, led the drivers’ standings by eight points. At the British Grand Prix, Hamilton and Verstappen fell controversially and thus ended the Dutchman’s race. The following weekend in Hungary, Verstappen finished ninth after a collision with Valtteri Bottas on the first lap.
