F1 unveils new hybrid branding set to launch in Brazil

F1 unveils new hybrid branding set to launch in Brazil

Formula 1 has been using V6 turbo hybrid drives since the beginning of the 2014 season and plays a key role in the series that produces the fastest cars in its 70-year history.

The hybrid drives were criticized by the former bosses of Formula 1 when they were introduced because of their sound.

As part of a push to highlight the use of hybrid power in Formula 1, a new set of graphics and branding will be used starting this weekend in Brazil.

The graphics will be featured on F1 TV graphics as well as throughout the paddock, hospitality units and pit lane, demonstrating the series’ commitment to hybrid power.

The branding has a green background and adds a slogan “powered by hybrid since 2014” in addition to the F1 logo.

F1 engines are the most efficient in the world, achieving 52% thermal efficiency, and the range continues to make strides in its pursuit of greater sustainability.

Starting in 2022, Formula 1 will use a more sustainable “E10” fuel, and the next generation of engines, due to be introduced in 2025, will run on 100% sustainable fuel.

The global survey recently commissioned by Motorsport Network in collaboration with F1 and Nielsen Sports showed that fans are interested in the pursuit of sustainability, especially new fuels.

55% of fans in the survey said they believe Formula 1 should lead the world in developing fully sustainable fuels, while 67% of respondents said they are already aware of Formula 1’s plan, to be introduced in 2025.

F1 plans to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2030 and wants all of their Grand Prix to be sustainable events by 2025 by offsetting their carbon footprint.

Some individual teams have also drawn up their own environmental plans. Williams is committed to going climate positive by 2030, while a number of teams including Williams, Mercedes and Ferrari have received the highest-rated three-star environmental accreditation from the FIA’s own program.
