Jos Verstappen has stated that his son will NOT attempt to clash with Lewis Hamilton at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen and Hamilton are tied for the final race of the season, although the Dutchman has a slight advantage due to the many races he has won.

Should both Verstappen and Hamilton drop out of the race, Verstappen would be crowned this year’s champion.

That has raised some fears that Verstappen might look aggressive without being able to knock out his title rivals.

But Jos Verstappen insists that his son’s focus is on winning the championship on the track at the checkered flag.

“I do not believe that [running Hamilton off the road] will happen, “the former F1 driver told the Daily Mail.

“Max really wants to win. He’ll definitely try.

“He’s definitely going to try to beat him. He’ll do anything to get the win, that’s for sure. It’ll be exciting.”
