F1 Grand Prix of Austria – start time, watch and more

F1 Austrian Grand Prix – Start time, how to watch, & more

The Red Bull driver dominated qualifying for the second Austrian race and took his fourth pole of the season and the third in a row.

Norris, who posted his best F1 qualifying result ever, defeated Red Bull’s Sergio Perez and two Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri in qualifying at absolute speed, but remains cautious about his race speed ahead of the Austrian GP.

With Perez in third place, Hamilton was only able to take fourth place on the day his new two-year Mercedes F1 deal was announced, which will keep him on the team at least until the end of 2023.

But Hamilton is already preparing for a frustrating Austrian GP as he expects an “easy cruise win” from pole sitter and title rival Verstappen.

With Bottas in fifth, AlphaTauri delivered an impressive performance in qualifying, Pierre Gasly was sixth and team-mate Yuki Tsunoda seventh.

Sebastian Vettel was given a three-place penalty in the second quarter for disability by Fernando Alonso, causing the Aston Martin driver to drop from eighth to eleventh place on the grid.

Vettel’s penalty promotes George Russell to eighth after securing his first Q3 appearance for Williams, while Lance Stroll moved up to ninth for Aston Martin.

Carlos Sainz Jr has also moved up to 10th place and continues to have a free choice of tires after his retirement in Q2. Vettel will share the Ferraris in 11th place, with former teammate Charles Leclerc in 12th place.
