Stoffel Vandoorne was completely relieved on the podium
But today he moved up from fourth on the grid to fight for the title.
Vandoorne said: “The redemption tasted good today to take home the victory.
“It feels like we needed that yesterday, especially after the pole position and speed we showed.
“But yes, we always believed that I was confident again in the car today and made the moves when it mattered and the team implemented the perfect strategy.”
Brit Alexander Sims finished second when ex-F1 driver Pascal Wehrlein made the final step on the podium after Norman Nato received a penalty.
This is Mercedes’ second win of the season after just four races after winning Rome and Saudi Arabia.
