Crawford sets the pace for Prema on day two of F3 testing at Valencia | F3

Red Bull Junior Jak Crawford set the pace on the second day of Formula 3 test drives on the Ricardo Tormo racetrack in Valencia.

Crawford was on duty for reigning champions Prema and looked good with the Italian team.

The 16-year-old experienced an inconsistent first season in the series and finished 13th in the drivers’ standings with a podium finish.

Crawford was at the top of the timesheets with 1: 21.368 minutes in the morning.

In the afternoon, Franco Colapinto was the fastest for MP Motorsport, just 0.4 seconds behind Crawford’s time this morning.

Crawford topped the timesheets in Valencia’s second hour of racing, defeating Gregoire Saucy, who continues to impress for the ART Grand Prix.

Saucy was just 0.079 seconds behind Crawford when he completed 55 laps on the Spanish circuit that morning.

Caio Collet temporarily led the lead for MP Motorsport and ended up finishing fourth, a little more than a tenth behind the pace.

Colapinto led the timesheets in the afternoon, with times overall slower than in the morning because the teams shifted their focus to longer runs or simply didn’t have fresh tires to put on.

The MP Motorsport driver drove 51 laps in the afternoon and finished the day 0.030 seconds ahead of Saucy.

Collet was third ahead of Mercedes F1 Junior Paul Aron.

Aron worked for Prema after taking third place in the Formula Regional European Championship with the Italian team.

The top 10 in the afternoon were: Colapinto, Saucy, Collet, Aron, Stanek, Frederick, Maloney, Crawford, Vidales and Bearman.

The F3 tests in Valencia will be completed tomorrow.
