Check out this recently auctioned Pagani Zonda R Evolution

The Pagani Zonda R Evolution is considered the masterpiece of the famous Horacio Pagani. Hence, it’s ultra-expensive and super rare. It is estimated that only 10 to 15 samples of the Supercoupé were launched between 2009 and 2011. One of these, allegedly the fifth to roll off the tape, was recently bought by RM Sotheby’s for an undisclosed amount.

The Zonda R is basically a track-oriented modification of the street-legal Zonda F. Pagani but claims the two have only 10% common parts. Mercedes F1 driver Lewis Hamilton happens to own a commissioned variant of the supercar, aptly named “Zonda 760 LH”, which was recently spotted in Monaco.

The Zonda R presented here features aerodynamic improvements that are highlighted by its lightweight carbon-titanium body with a platinum coating that connects the composite fabric. It also features a bespoke design, as well as an upgraded front splitter, minimalist projector headlights, central locking magnesium wheels and a towing eye.

The heart of the super sports car is its 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine from AMG. It is the same engine as in the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR. The hardware develops 800 hp (789 hp) with an acceleration time of 0-60 mph of 2.7 seconds.

The seller said this Zonda was the first device to be freely sold in the United States. The car’s introductory price was $ 2.5 million a decade ago. We have no idea how much it sold by RM Sotheby’s, but a Zonda Riviera raised $ 5.89 million sometime in 2019.
