Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton’s contract negotiations for the 2021 season took a little too long this year. So much so that both parties have announced their intention to finalize the deal in 2022 before the paddock leaves for the mid-season break. And it looks like the long delay also seems to have terrified Valtteri Bottas, who is keen to get his deal signed as soon as possible.

“But to be honest, I haven’t really thought about it yet. And that’s an honest answer. I’m really just focusing on these races now and the moment we start talking is going to come sometime.
“Certainly about my future, yes, I think the August break is usually a good time. But to be honest, I don’t want to think about it just yet. I just want to win races, that’s the only thing I’m thinking about at the moment, ”concluded Bottas.
How does Bottas compare to his teammate Lewis Hamilton?
The Finn has been on Hamilton’s tail for some time, but sadly, he has rarely managed to beat the knight. Bottas has taken every single podium this season, with the exception of the Emilia GP, where he crashed with Williams driver George Russell.
