Big boost for Red Bull as Saudi Arabia delivers crucial update to F1 circuit designers

Every Formula 1 fan is eagerly awaiting the next race in Jeddah. The sport will visit Saudi Arabia for the first time, on what is touted as the fastest street circuit in F1. So far, everyone had assumed that the fast and flowing nature of the route would favor Mercedes. But F1 track designer Hermann Tilke believes the track could also benefit Red Bull.

The circuit has the most corners of any F1 circuit. The Austrian team could benefit from this important feature of the track as it is fast in the corners.

Tilke believes Red Bull could be quick in Jeddah

As reported by amp.sport1.de, Mercedes has already announced that it will bring its more powerful engine to the track. But as with any street circuit, it would all depend on the car’s setup. The team that tunes the car better would drive home the advantage in Jeddah.

“A powerful engine helps, but not just straight ahead. There are a couple of fast corners that, with the right set-up, could give the Red Bull an advantage. Since it is also a street circuit, separate laws often apply, ”said Tilke.

Red Bull is also confident it will bounce back at the Saudi Arabia GP. Helmut Marko said he trusted the skills of table leader Max Verstappen on a street circuit. The Dutchman has dominated the last two races on a street circuit in Monaco and Baku.

“He won in Monaco and Baku, he clearly dominated before his tire blown through no fault of his own. I think the pilot can make the difference again in Saudi Arabia, ”said Marko.

Tilke’s new reveal added more drama to the already intense championship battle. If Red Bull can solve their problems and keep up with the strong engine of the German team, we will have a hot race ahead of us.
