2021 Portuguese Grand Prix: what weather to expect on the windy Portimao F1 track?

This coming weekend, the Formula 1 brotherhood will travel to the Algarve Circuit for the Portuguese Grand Prix. This is the second year in a row that F1 has visited Portugal. In the run-up to the race weekend, some eyes will be on the sky, especially after last weekend’s chaotic rain race.

If the drivers had driven this weekend, they would have had similar conditions to Imola. Fortunately, track conditions are likely to remain dry for the most part, although the sky will be cloudy.

In terms of temperature, the Formula 1 paddock can expect a range between 19 ° C and 21 ° C on Saturday. Meanwhile, Sunday will be exposed to temperatures between 20 ° C and 23 ° C and the sky will be cloudy again.

How will the Portuguese Grand Prix go next weekend?

To be completely honest, there may well be no rain falling on the horizon. The Algarve International Circuit is practically a roller coaster with several ups and downs. Adding rain to the mix would only increase the difficulty of spades. Even so, all drivers will be interested in taming the track.

On the way to this weekend it is clear that Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen are the main title protagonists. Both drivers clinched a victory each and one point separates them in the championship. Of course the season is still long and there is enough time to either push the driver forward or to fill in a new competitor.

However, the prospect of a new player spoiling the party may be a little unlikely. Valtteri Bottas has fought bravely on occasions but has rarely been able to take it, especially this year.

Sergio Perez is now on a similar path and the bad news is he’s still getting used to the car. In the meantime, the Ferraris and McLarens occasionally get into the mix, but they’re still not up to par with Mercedes and Red Bull.
