
In just over a week, the Formula 1 paddock will be driving for the French Grand Prix at the Paul Ricard Circuit. The GP returned to the F1 calendar in 2018 and 2019. Lewis Hamilton won on both occasions, but not many were fans of the racing quality.

On the track itself, it’s interesting to note that Slavica Ecclestone, Bernie’s ex-wife, is the proud owner. Apparently, she inherited the Circuit Paul Ricard after her divorce from the former F1 Supremo. In 2018, she and former F1 driver Jean Alesi visited Le Castellet for a general inspection.

“I am very impressed with everything that has been done,” she said. “It’s very different and I’m very happy. It’s unique and more impressive than other routes.
“I was very happy to find out that they had decided on a Grand Prix here. I’ve heard a lot about it in the news and from my advisors and friends, very positively. “
What can we expect from the 2021 French Grand Prix?
But 2 years later it got worse. As it turned out, General Manager Stephane Clair confirmed that there are plans for a change of ownership.
However, it turned out that although there were several offers, none of them were particularly lucrative. Ecclestone therefore remains the owner of the Paul Ricard Circuit for the time being.

Admittedly, the last two French Grand Prix events left a lot to be desired in terms of suspense. Hopefully lightning won’t strike a third time, especially considering the field was much more competitive.
The Red Bull team wants to continue its good form next weekend. But the Mercedes team is looking for redemption after two bad races in a row.
