Mercedes Benz shocked the automotive world when it announced that the new Mercedes-AMG C63 S would not come with a V8 engine. Instead, the German manufacturer decided to bring the iconic sports car into the modern era with a unique hybrid powertrain.
However, this hybrid was powered by a 4-cylinder engine, essentially cutting the engine from the previous C 63 AMG in half. Despite the smaller engine, Mercedes managed to craft a powerful, dynamic, and modern sports car that packs even more of a punch than models in the past.

10/10 Aggressive, modern design
The new Mercedes-AMG C63 S is based on the new C Class from Mercedes-Benz. This new model comes with a sleek, modern design that features a few subtle modifications. This includes a sporty front end, dynamic body lines on the hood, and massive wheels.

The aggressive design extends from the front bumper to the rear of the car with AMG’s quad tailpipes. While the legitimacy of the quad pipes remains in question, the sound is still authentically AMG. The rear of the car also features a blacked-out spoiler and a diffuser to help with rear downforce. This helps make the car look even more aggressive on the road.
9/10 hybrid technology
While there was much debate around what the future of performance sedans would look like, the Mercedes-AMG C63 S entered the market showing off its hybrid design. This hybrid design is worlds apart from the MHEV powertrains from BMW as they allow you to charge and drive the car in fully electric mode if you want to.

8/10 More Power Than The Last C 63 S
Gearheads around the world were shocked when they first found out that Mercedes decided to cut the engine in the C 63 S in half. However, Mercedes knew exactly what they were doing when it decided to go with a modern, hybrid powertrain.
Even though the new C 63 S comes with a 4-cylinder engine, the electric motor adds significant power to create a total power output of 680 HP. To put this into context, the previous V8-powered C 63 S from Mercedes only produced around 469 HP and 479 lb-ft of torque.

As mentioned above, the new C 63 S from Mercedes-AMG comes with a hybrid engine. This hybrid powertrain leverages both traditional and electric motors to produce insane amounts of power and torque in an instant. While this power is amazing, the efficiency allows you to use the car every day.
The new C 63 S from Mercedes-AMG comes with a few economical driving modes including an electric-only mode and an economical mode for incredibly efficient daily driving. Despite being a 680 HP sports car, the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S can achieve around 41 miles to the gallon.
6/10 Formula One Technology
While all Mercedes F1 fans may want to forget the 2022 season, it’s without a doubt that the F1 team is one of the best in the business. The F1 team has worked closely with Mercedes-AMG to develop the Mercedes-AMG One. However, much of this technology managed to make its way into the C 63 S.
The new Mercedes-AMG C 63 S is designated as an E-Performance vehicle. This follows the same branding as Mercedes’ Formula One cars as it shares much of the underlying electric and hybrid technology. This includes the latest battery technology and the electric boost mode.
5/10 Comfortable, classy interior
The interior of the new C 63 S looks absolutely incredible. While there are just a handful of upgrades compared to the standard C Class, the standard C Class was already miles ahead of the competition. The C 63 S comes with two massive screens, one for the driver and the other on the center console.
Despite the C 63 SE Performance being a sports sedan, the car still features massage chairs, leather seats, a leather steering wheel, and ambient lighting. This makes it the perfect blend of both performance and comfort. This blend makes it the perfect car to drive every day.
4/10 The Latest MBUX System
MBUX is the most advanced infotainment system in the automotive industry. While BMW’s iDrive system was impressive for a long time, the new MBUX system is quick, snappy, and as responsive as a smartphone. The system also allows you to create profiles and is displayed on a beautiful touch screen in the center of the car.
The new version of MBUX includes the dynamic driver modes but also works seamlessly with your smartphone. This means that the system is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, making it the perfect car to live with.
3/10 A Practical Estate Model
One of the major notes that Mercedes gave us a while ago is that there would be no coupe model of the C 63 anymore. This meant that the new C 63 S would be available as a sedan and would go up against other sports sedans such as the BMW M3 and the Audi RS4. However, Mercedes surprised us by announcing an estate model alongside the sedan.
While there is an M3 Touring model available, fans had to wait a few months to finally see what it looks like. Mercedes took a different approach and decided to launch both versions of the car at the same time. This estate model offers the same powerful technology but with a more practical design.

Mercedes-AMG features one of the most advanced all-wheel-drive systems in the world. The all-wheel-drive system was perfected in the S Class before making its way to the rest of the range. This system allows you to adjust the level of traction you want but can also isolate the power delivery.
