As for the flyweight supercars built in the Netherlands, Donkervoort really has no competition. It really is the best in this tiny little niche in the automotive universe. We’ve always loved this weird little brand on this site, not least because of the company’s founder is a guy named Joop. The D8 GTO is a wild machine with a better power-to-weight ratio than the McLaren F1 – yes i will continue – and looks just as crazy as the people who buy them. With the new Individual series, the company moves away from “option packages” and enables buyers to really design their Donkervoort according to their wishes.

The D8 GTO is already a pretty potent package, powered by a 2.5-liter Audi inline five turbo with around 380 hp, which can, however, be increased to 435 hp with an ABT Sportsline performance kit. The car weighs just 1499 pounds, and with optional slicks, Donkervoort claims it will tickle 2 side Gs through the corners. It will reportedly go from 0 to 124 in 7.7 seconds. It’s basically a formula car that looks like the design process was a guy who described a Caterham 7 to a guy who specializes in drawing catfish and has never seen a Caterham 7. I love everything about it.

Getting started is a pleasure, but with the new Individual package: “If you can imagine it and it’s legal to put a car on, Donkervoort can do it.” That’s a bold claim because I can imagine a lot. I really think what they mean by that is that you can paint the car any color you want and sew the interior any color you want. And you can order extra carbon fiber if you want. I mean, you have to pay extra for everything, but it’s available. The company says it offers “hypercar customization” at “supercar prices,” whatever that means. Donkervoort says it expects its customers to “ask for additions or changes that we don’t even know how to do – yet”.

If you want to build your D8 GTO Individual with the highest level of convenience the company can make in the shell, or if you want the most powerful tracked machine, or a combination of both, they can build it.

Corresponding the price sheet, the D8 GTO Individual starts at € 162,900, and it’s pretty easy to put that price up quite a bit in a short amount of time. There are optional performance upgrades, aero upgrades, air conditioning, heated seats, factory roll cages, carbon fiber wheels, and every exterior and interior color combination you can dream of. Hell, if you want it, Donkervoort builds the entire car in carbon fiber for a whopping 39,200 euros!

I would never imagine spending that much money on a car, but if you run a supercar channel on YouTube with a ghoul billionaire daddy’s money, this is the perfect car for you! It’ll grab eyeballs everywhere you roll so you can put a little vinyl sticker of your chan and gram on the door as a treat. Nobody would blame you.
