The McLaren F1 GTR racing car is the definition of poster material for bedroom walls. Its rarity and legendary status make it inaccessible today, with auction prices in the eight-digit range. So how can we as the average person get a piece of this automotive masterpiece?

Surprisingly, there is a way to go about it, as this set of original GTR Speedline Wheels from RM Sotheby’s has an estimated price of € 2,000-3,000 ($ 2,387-3,580) while the rear bumper of the same car retails for £ 20,000 ($ 27,801) . !

Since McLaren only built a total of 28 F1 GTRs between 1995 and 1997, it is not often that original parts are offered for sale online. The full set of Speedline five-spoke wheels listed on the Open Roads auction were used by the F1 GTR chassis 06R, which sported the yellow Harrods livery for two seasons of the BPR Global GT Series and took a total of four wins. He also drove in the 1996 24 Hours of Le Mans and finished sixth. In honor of McLaren, the P1 GTR painted in the same colors just a few years ago.

The wheels aren’t in pristine condition, but the scratches and markings proudly show off their racing history, so don’t worry. As for size, the front wheels measure 19.5 x 12 inches and the rear wheels measure 19.5 x 14 inches for wider tires. The auction – offered without reservation – ends on June 30th. The bikes are in Germany, so if you are interested you have to organize the shipping yourself.
