The joker of the grid, Daniel Ricciardo, acts “really grown up” in a recent Instagram post; the driver uses an empty pit board. With a double allusion, the driver gives his teammate a 15-second penalty from the stands. After a devastating race for McLaren drivers in Hungary, Ricciardo tried to provide comedic relief on his Instagram.

The Australian giggled uncontrollably as he held up a board that read ‘PEN15’ as Norris drove by. Ironically, Ricciardo posted his video after McLaren posted his own video deciphering the meaning behind the pit board.

The two drivers did not have a desirable weekend in Hungary. The T1 incident affected both drivers, Bottas collided with Norris and Leclerc met Ricciardo.
Ricciardo and Norris – a bromance in the making?
Daniel and Lando had their own iconic “bromance” on the grid. Daniel and Max are good friends, both on and off the track. The former team-mates spent a lot of time together at Red Bull and got extremely close. Daniel’s predecessor Carlos Sainz was also very good friends with Lando. The two drivers were inseparable off the track and were often spotted playing golf together.
While ‘Carlando’ and ‘Maxiel’ still exist, Ricciardo and Norris could finally get along. The two didn’t immediately click when Daniel arrived at McLaren. While laughing with Ricciardo is natural, their relationship was very different from the one they had with their former teammates.
Norris accepted this, saying the age difference meant a difference in interest. “Our interests off the racetrack are very different; he does more wine and clothes and things like that, and I’m more interested in golf and esports and things that carlos cared a little more. “

As a result, the two of them don’t spend too much time together off the track. However, McLaren’s “Unboxed” video after the British GP gave fans hope as it showed how teammates were connected and joking. When Daniel references a pit board joke once made by Norris, it looks like the two get along; albeit in their own funny way.
All jokes aside, the papaya drivers have an enormous challenge ahead of them. Currently linked to their rival Ferrari, the pair must have bowed their heads and stretched elbows to overtake the game at Spa.
