Norris also drove an outstanding lap and made it into the top 3. However, his lap time was deleted as the track restrictions were exceeded. As a result, the young British driver had to start from seventh place, but still had an excellent race.
However, the 21-year-old bounced back as he took 3rd place while Hamilton finished second and Red Bulls Max Verstappen took his first win of the season.

Norris believes he made it to P3 at Imola only because of his merits
