Verstappen in the lead for the final practice session of the Spanish Grand Prix

Verstappen in the lead for the final practice session of the Spanish Grand Prix

Despite a bad Friday, Max Verstappen spoiled Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team Weekend in the top of the last workout of the weekend. Verstappen floated around the middle of the table during Friday’s afternoon session, but that doesn’t really seem to reflect his pace and appears to be a real threat to pole position.

Red Bull Racing Teammate Sergio Perez He didn’t have the best morning, his fastest time was seven tenths of a second behind his teammate and he was tenth fastest.

Lewis Hamilton finished second after spending much of the session in the lead but was eventually dwarfed by Verstappen. Valtteri Bottas He was more than half a second behind the fastest lap in what was a disappointing session for him when he finished fifth overall.

Scuderia Ferrari continued to be a threat to the top three this weekend. Charles Leclerc was fast all weekend and made it into the top three for a second session with the third fastest lap; His teammate Carlos Sainz Jr. was just behind him in fourth place.

Lando Norris was the next victim of the new Turn 10. Norris had a small prison and walked into the gravel. Fortunately, he was able to get his car back on the road and pits again. The Brit still showed a strong session and finished sixth overall. His McLaren F1 Team Teammate Daniel Ricciardo picked up the pace from Friday’s sessions, broke into the top ten and finished eighth.

Pierre Gasly It was left to the last minutes of the session to complete a top ten lap and split the McLaren into seventh place. Yuki Tsunoda had a good weekend but couldn’t quite match Gasly’s pace and finished twelfth.

Kimi Raikkonen suffered a puncture while walking on the soft tires. He was able to return his car to the pits, albeit slowly. Even so, he still managed to complete a lap that put him in the top ten and ninth fastest overall. Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN Teammate Antonio Giovinazzi was at the other end of the timing screen in the sixteenth.

Alpine F1 team could not repeat their exploits from the Friday afternoon session. None of the drivers could break the top ten Fernando Alonso Just come shy in eleventh and Esteban Ocon in the thirteenth.

Aston Martin Cognizant Formula 1 team The misfortune continues. Lance Stroll was fourteenth with Sebastian Vettel in seventeenth place, a full and a half seconds before Verstappen.

George Russell once sat in seventh place at the beginning of the session, but could not stay there. He was fifteenth with Williams Racing Teammate Nicholas latifi in the eighteenth.

Uralkali Haas F1 Team Duo or Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin finished the grid in nineteenth and twentieth place respectively.
