United Autosports crowned 2021 European GT4 Champions in season finale

•    Bailey Voisin and Charlie Fagg seal Silver Drivers’ Championship in first race

•    Gus Bowers and Dean Macdonald claim fourth in Drivers’ Championship after hard fought battle in second race

•    Successful 2021 season for United Autosports after long-awaited return to GT racing

United Autosports have been crowned Silver Drivers’ Champions at the final round of 2021 GT4 European Series, to go with their Teams’ Championship win secured at the previous round at the Nürburgring. Bailey Voisin and Charlie Fagg in the #23 McLaren 570S crossed the line sixth in class yesterday, sealing the Drivers’ Championship with one race to go.
 

Starting the season off with a double win at Monza at the first round, Bailey and Charlie were set up for a brilliant first season with United Autosports, going on to achieve a further two wins, three poles and six podiums as well as picking up the Silver Teams’ Championship a round early in Nürburgring alongside teammates Gus Bowers and Dean Macdonald in the #32 McLaren 570S.
 

This weekend, Gus and Dean moved up to the third in the Drivers’ Championship after the first race at Barcelona, in which Gus drove a brilliant stint from P37 after a qualifying session that was hampered with red flags and traffic.

Having worked his way through the field, Gus handed the car to Dean in P27, who also drove brilliantly, bringing the #32 McLaren over the line to finish seventh in class, providing Gus and Dean with crucial championship points placing them third, ahead of the final race.
 

Unfortunately, the final race of the season did not favour the #32 and despite Gus and Dean’s best efforts they finished the season in fourth place. Throughout the season, Gus and Dean both qualified on pole at Monza and Nurburgring and secured their first win of 2021 at Nürburgring, which then also secured the Teams’ Championship for United.
 

United Autosports have had a brilliant return to GT racing. Bailey, Charlie, Gus and Dean have been exceptional drivers and the team have enjoyed a great partnership with them this season.
 

The team’s focus now turns to the final rounds of the European Le Mans Series and Michelin Le Mans Cup at Portimao, Portugal on 22-24 October.
