While 30 Minis of the 1960s are walking head to nose at Goodwood, our quest for the ultimate Mini led us to discover the insane and beautiful Spectral Type 10, but only 10 cars are planned for now!

This mighty Mini was invented by a team of enthusiasts in Canada and is a perfect demonstration of how to build an exciting and beautiful car. The heart of the Type 10 is the 2.0-liter Honda VTEC engine, which thanks to a six-speed gearbox sends 230 hp to the rear wheels. The details in the engine compartment demonstrate the care with which the car was used with the use of gold foil reminiscent of the McLaren F1.

The inside could be described as classically contemporary. Wood, leather, fabrics and metal combine to create a spacious and functional cabin. The gearshift lever is a work of art, while the classic oval wooden dashboard is pure class. The oatmeal rugs give a homely classic look that reminds you of sitting in a sixty year old car.

The wheels are a nod to the iconic Minilite, but they’re actually carefully crafted three-piece wheels with the spokes directing heat away from the brakes. Clever thing! Speaking of brakes, there are 4-piston calipers and discs all around and braided hoses that run with improved fluids to ensure the brakes are up to the job as the pace increases.

The finishing touch that we really love is the Sky Panel, a large, curved piece of glass that makes the interior wonderfully light and airy. Not something a Mini is known for! It remains to be seen how hot it gets on sunny days and whether hitting a curb while on full swing on the track could cause stress on the roof, but it’s a cool feature we love. Although for serious track addicts, it can also be a delete option. Speaking of options, the titanium exhaust is a breeze!

Don’t miss out, order now. The next step is to have a chat with the creative director to ensure a wonderfully intimate process to make sure the car is exactly how you want it to be.
