Even if we are adult ages, many of us still love Lego. What started out in humble beginnings has now become one of the biggest toys across the world, with multiple kits, sets and parts available. Lego has massively expanded the range over the years, and one way in which they have done this is via plenty of car sets. There are automobile sets for everyone, ranging from muscle cars, to Formula 1 cars and of course supercars. But there are plenty of other sets to get excited about too.
One of those is one that was actually revealed ahead of the Christmas holiday period. Construction vehicle sets are a bit part of the Lego lineup, and this latest one is one of the best. It is part of the Lego Technic range and is a 6×6 Volvo articulated hauler kit. It’s one of the most impressive models we’ve seen thus far from the Technic range. It even allows a person to drive the rig, thanks to the innovative Control+ app that Lego also has. This is a Lego kit unlike any other.
A Vast And Expensive Lego Technic Kit

One of the most impressive things about any Lego Technic kit is the vast number of pieces involved in them to get them built. This Volvo kit really is no exception with a stunning 2,193 pieces making up the kit. That is a lot of building time for someone! The kit itself is hugely impressive in size too when you have finished putting it together. It is around 21 inches long, some nine inches wide and eight inches tall. We can all agree that is a very sizable Lego kit.
Size and a large number of pieces is not the only thing that this Lego kit has to offer. Technic kits are some of the most complex and impressive that Lego has to offer, and the prices reflect that. This Volvo articulated truck costs $249.99, which is a lot of money for an item listed as age 11 up. However, given the complexity of the kit and everything else that you can do with it, that price tag does seem to make a bit more sense. Lego says that the kit has realistic features for epic role play, which of course involves the impressive Control + function.

The Control + app is one of the best features about modern Lego Technic products, and the functions you have are incredibly impressive. The app allows the user and owner of the kit to drive the Volvo hauler with realistic gauges on the app dashboard, to give it a bit more of an authentic feel. The dashboard is also personalized. Plus, you can use the app to control other functions of the truck to such as its huge rear bucket for whatever load it would carry.
Technic kits offer insane levels of detail, and this large Lego kit is no exception. The level of detail extends to the V6 engine under the hood of the truck, just like the real Volvo hauler has. And in a first for a Lego Technic product, the Volvo hauler has a fully functioning automatic transmission. This is perhaps the most impressive feature about this model. The truck itself can drive forward and backward, get steered as well and the app also allows you to change gears with it as well. Three motors and a Bluetooth controller, plus six batteries make up the control package.
A Level Of Lego Detail That Is Unrivaled

Lego says that this kit will allow kids to learn the secrets of mega construction, and the app certainly provides a lot of that learning. This kit is certainly a far cry from the most basic of kits that Lego launched when it was a new company. Kits like this are of course reserved for the Technic range and offer higher levels of detail and functionality. Other products within the Lego Technic range include the Ferrari Daytona SP3, and even a McLaren F1 car kit, based on the 2021 MCL35M.
One Of Lego’s Most Impressive Recent Kits

While the kit is clearly marketed as a kits’ product, the reality is some adults will love to get their hands on this too. The Technic range is one that appeals to many people. This is surely one of Lego’s most impressive Technic kits to date as well. The number of pieces involved in its construction are a testament to its level of detail. At the moment, the kit is in such demand that it is actually sold out on the Lego USA website. We imagine it will return at some point. But it shows just how popular this very kit has turned out to be.
