Christian Horner has the relationship between. called Red Bull Racing and engine suppliers Honda “Phenomenal” after the conclusion of their official partnership at the end of 2021.

Honda returned to Formula 1 as an engine supplier McLaren F1 team in 2015 and spent three unsuccessful years on the Woking team before moving to Scuderia Toro Rosso In 2018, Red Bull also agreed to drive with Honda Power from 2019 after an argument with Renault.

Since the beginning of their partnership, Red Bull and Honda have won sixteen races together and taken thirteen pole positions Max Verstappen for his first drivers’ world championship in 2021.

Red Bull will operate the Honda power units in the future, but the two parties will continue to work together on other projects.

And when asked if the relationship between Red Bull and Honda was the best they had in Formula 1, team boss Horner was adamant.

“Absolutely! The passion, the commitment, simply your work ethic …”, Horner is quoted by GPFans.

“When they got back into the sport they had a tough time but they kept their heads down, they worked hard on it and from day one in that relationship it was phenomenal. You can see that in their culture, in the work ethic that they have.

“The engine for this year was brought forward by 12 months and without the Silverstone incident, Max (Verstappen) would have driven three engines for the entire season.”

Horner says he is “immensely proud” of the successes Red Bull has achieved with Honda, but they will now look to the future as Red Bull Drives take over the operation and development of your engines.

“The first drivers’ championship in 30 years since Ayrton Senna in 1991 is an enormous moment for them,” said Horner.

“We are immensely proud of what we have achieved with Honda, of what they have given us, and look forward to a future without Honda officially, but to maintain a relationship with them for the next few years.”
